Tianjin auto exports hold volume, gain 31.5% in value
Executive Summary
In the first three quarters Tianjin port exported 614,000 vehicles, up 9.8% year on year, while value hit 39.41 billion yuan, up 31.5%. China-Europe trains passed the 600th trip; the free trade zone shipped its first 180 NEVs. Value, not volume, drove the gain.

Overview
Tianjin exported 614,000 vehicles in nine months, up just 9.8%. But value reached 39.41 billion yuan, up 31.5%.
Average price per vehicle rose from about 56,000 to 64,000 yuan.
Here is the thing: exporters shipped fewer more expensive cars, not more cars.
South America and the Middle East took the high-value share. Watch the value, not the count.

Key Details
Tianjin China-Europe (Asia) trains hit the 600th trip this year, a month ahead of last year. Q1-Q3 ran 580 trips, 62,600 TEU, up 13.1% and 13.4%; return trips broke zero.
A direct Tianjin-Southeast Asia service opened November 4 with four boxships on a weekly loop: Tianjin-Qingdao-Xiamen-Singapore-Port Klang-Penang-Nansha. It cuts 5 to 10 days off the old Busan transshipment.
One corridor north, one south. Both feed Tianjin hinterland and ASEAN cargo.

Looking Ahead
Tianjin port free trade zone shipped its first batch of NEV exports: 180 GAC Aion units, with processing time cut by two weeks. About 1,000 more units from GAC, Changan and Nissan are queued.
The bonded zone links factory direct purchase, bonded storage, fast customs and finished-vehicle export. Fewer hops, lower cost.
Put simply, the bonded consolidation lane is young but real.
Implications
Auto export is Tianjin steadiest growth this year; ro-ro space will tighten. Book ahead, do not wait for the berth.
NEVs through the bonded zone mean more consolidation work, and small-batch orders are easier to take.
Bottom line, price on value per unit, not on vehicle count. High-value models via Tianjin carry lower logistics cost share. That is your edge.
Market Outlook
Watch Q4: the South America peak decides if auto export holds +9.8%. The 1,000-unit bonded NEV queue is the test of whether that lane scales. If December value growth stays above 30%, the upgrade is a real turn, not a flash.JETWAY Supply Chain is your execution partner on the ground in China — based in Tianjin, licensed as an NVOCC (MOT) and a member of CIFA, FIATA and WCA.
